The exhibition Illumination is a cornucopia of international contemporary and classic works of art acquired over the past three years in the form of more than 50 works in all kinds of different media including paintings, photography, sculptures and installations.

The art aims to open up all kinds of new perspectives and illuminating the world around us in a way we’ve never seen before.

This is an opportunity to get an in-depth insight into the art of the modern world. Louisiana prides itself on the acquisition of contemporary art in order to create surprising and eye-opening perspectives on our time.

The exhibition consists of work presentations focusing on the individual artist and the individual work.

It is an exhibition that invites absorption in many, varied environments across the globe – stretching from Europe, Scandinavia and Greenland across the USA to Angola, India and the Arab World.

Illumination will be featuring a myriad of famous and lesser-known artists, including Andreas Gursky, Franz West, Cindy Sherman, Rineke Dijkstra, Julie Mehretu, Sterling Ruby, Alex Da Corte, Roni Horn, Tacita Dean and many others from the international art world.

Alongside Illumination, Louisiana will host an art festival in the spring where visitors will be able to meet several of the exhibited artists.
